Resident Evil Requiem Switch 2 version could launch at lower price

Ana sayfa / News

Resident Evil Requiem Switch 2 players may catch a rare break at the checkout. According to early listings, Nintendo’s handheld version might undercut the price of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox editions by about £10.

Amazon UK briefly listed the Switch 2 version of Requiem at £60, while the same game sits at £70 for Xbox and PS5. This gap caught fans off guard, especially as most third-party Switch ports tend to stick close to full retail pricing regardless of hardware differences.

Capcom hasn’t confirmed PC pricing yet, and no one knows if the £10 gap will remain by the February 27 release date.

Resident Evil Requiem Leak Hints at Leon Reveal in Upcoming Showcases

Leaks suggest Capcom may showcase Leon Kennedy in Resident Evil Requiem at State of Play or Tokyo Game Show this September.

The Resident Evil Requiem Switch 2 edition will run on the RE Engine but with scaled-down graphics. Internally, it targets a 600p resolution then upscaled using DLSS. While gameplay will match other versions, visuals will fall behind current-gen consoles.

This isn’t surprising. The Switch 2 won’t compete with PS5 or Xbox Series X graphically, but it aims to deliver consistent gameplay within the limits of its portable hardware.

It’s rare to see a lower price tag on major third-party Switch releases. Recent examples include:

So even a modest discount feels unusual and welcome.

Capcom will launch Resident Evil: Biohazard Gold Edition and Resident Evil Village Gold Edition on the Switch 2 the same day as Requiem. While retailers haven’t opened pre-orders yet, Capcom plans to release both games as native ports instead of using cloud streaming like on the original Switch.

If the £60 listing holds, it’s a rare case where Switch 2 owners pay less, not more, for the same core experience. That alone feels like a survival horror twist.
